I love nature & people and am passionate about preserving our natural world. A childhood in Singapore gave me a fascination for plants and flowers, which led to the desire to work as a florist. I trained in England at Merrist Wood, completing my floristry diplomas in 1996, the same year I was married. Designing the flowers for my own wedding led to Heavenly Scent being born.
I started out in a tiny conservatory and now work from a timber workshop in the garden of my home, surrounded by the countryside of Hampshire. It’s a great place to create and I love chatting to my customers in there, surrounded by flowers and fragrance.
Along with my trusted family team, we have designed wonderful flower creations for hundreds of weddings & events. It has always been so special to have played a part in these occasions and we have had some incredible experiences along the way.
I have worked with fresh flowers for over 20 years. It is an incredible industry, but currently the imported flower sector is one of the most un-ecological trades out there; racking up air miles, plastic use, chemical fertilisers, exploitation and enormous waste. It was some years ago that I realised I didn’t want to be a part of this anymore and searched for a more ecological solution to cut my carbon footprint and that of my clients.
It was then I discovered the world of faux flowers & foliage and I didn’t look back. I said goodbye to fresh flowers, swapped scissors for wire cutters and faux flowers & foliage filled the workshop, along with the fragrances I was now creating. The next phase of Heavenly Scent had begun…
With my extensive experience in the flower industry, I have the knowledge to source only the finest faux flowers & foliage accredited by the British Florists Association. Coupled with my traditional floristry skills, it makes for an excellent combination. With a passion for high quality & design, each creation is handmade as an exclusive and perfect complement to its fresh counterpart.
What matters most in life are the special moments we share with family and friends and thanks to my wonderful clients I so love being a part of that. It is a privilege to be able to sprinkle some magic into somebody’s life using everlasting flowers. Be it a wedding filled with romance, a bouquet to cheer or an uplifting display for your office or home.
