Having had an exotic childhood in Singapore, I found my calling in flowers when moving to the UK and trained at Merrist Wood, completing my floristry diplomas in 1996, the same year I was married. Designing the flowers for my own wedding led to Heavenly Scent being born.

The tiny conservatory is now a timber studio in the garden of my home surrounded by the countryside of Hampshire. It’s a great place to create and I love chatting to my customers in there, surrounded by flowers and fragrance and happy cats who are very much part of the team!

I have worked with fresh flowers for over 20 years and 7 years ago hung up my fresh flower scissors to move into the faux flower sector for a variety of reasons, but the main one being sustainability. I absolutely love sourcing the most realistic and beautiful faux flowers and foliage available. Using my traditional floristry skills I take great pleasure in creating beautiful displays that can be reused and repurposed, creating far less waste and often none at all.

I spent many years training in perfumery and researching how to fragrance faux flowers so they smell like fresh flowers. I now have my own range of faux flower fragrance sprays so my sustainable floral creations can look and smell real with great eco credentials! My secret technique and recipe is created so that the fragrance actually lasts for several weeks/months on the flowers, so you don’t have to keep topping them up. This has blossomed into flower diffusers as well and my products now have their own Trademark.

I am supported by a wonderful family team and we have won several awards over the years, which has been brilliant. I find creating happiness via flowers and scent the most rewarding career I could have hoped for.

What matters most in life are the special moments we share with family and friends and thanks to my wonderful clients I so love being a part of that. It is a privilege to be able to sprinkle some magic into somebody’s life using everlasting flowers and fragrance. Be it a wedding filled with romance, a bouquet to cheer or an uplifting display for your office or home.
